Beautiful clean beach with a pristine view of the Arabian ocean. The beach is accessible from the cliff side as well as the town side. There are a lot of beautiful cafes lining the beach.Must watch the sunset here, its mind blowing. The beach and sound of the waves are so refreshing.In addition the beach view from the Cliff was awesome.

The view of the beach was superb...But the restrictions from beach lifeguards are too much to enjoy the beach..Whenever I visit this beach faced same issues.. The lifeguards thought it's their duty not no allow anyone to go and touch the sea water..Most of the time I found as rush in beach

The beach is extraordinary and the view from cliff is awesome. Beach is nice and calm full.Place is awesome for chilling and numerous sea facing resorts are there where we can wake up to beach.

One of the best beach in kerala.The view from the cliff is just brilliant and watching the sunset from there was an amazing experience. Down, the water is soothing and clean, and totally refreshing. Nice sand for kids to play. Wonderful spot to take a break and have some happy time.Enough car parking space is available on top. Lots of small sea side restaurants were there and fresh sea food were also an attraction of this place. Awesome spot for hanging out with friends and family.

Mini Goa vibes. Lot of food spots to explore. Restaurants are a tad bit expensive around the cliff area but the quality is top notch. Some restaurants do serve alcohol too for those who want it.Best place to unwind during weekends. 24*7 Police outpost is active.

I recently had one of the best experiences of my life. The view was absolutely incredible and being on the beach provided a unique experience. Seeing the waves from a few feet above the ground gave a completely different vibe, almost like being above sea level! The shopping, the restaurants, and the walkway all contribute to a stress-free environment and bring about a sense of great joy. I highly recommend that everyone try to experience this at least once.

This place is actually a cliff. The beach is some 100 ft below this area. The cliff is almost the entire length of the beach.All the restaurants are situated on this cliff as well as the hotels, homestay, and lodges.There are many sovereign stores too, please bargain as much as possible.And also while deciding which restaurant to eat in be careful with the rates. (The fish which my colleagues had, exactly that same fish of same size was available in the adjacent restaurant in half the price)

The place was awesome 😍. The view was breathtaking. Fish quality were great. They have a market were you can buy anything for your loved ones but the cost is little high.

Varkkala is one of the good hotspots in Kerala. It is situated in Kollam district.The beach is safe, adventure activities are available, surfing is allowed.The cliff has a great parking lot near the Varkala Helipad. From here you can walk along the cliff and enjoy the view.Mid December to Mid Jan is the peak season.From the cliff view is great and there is stairs to reach down the beach from cliff. If your looking for a calm n peaceful weekend, Varkala is a great place to explore. There is alot to see.

A place very similar to goa. The cliff is spread across the shoreline. On one side you have this beautiful blue sea view and on the other side it's a colourful chaotic lane full of beautiful cafes and shops.

Cliff beaches 🏝️ are rare in Kerala and this the one and only cliff beach of god’s own country. The place and the beach are so nice. There are so many restaurants on the edge of that cliff. Overall the area gave me a vibe of Goa. Not exactly like Goa 😅I visited this place during an off season and also a monsoon time. So the ocean was so hostile. The authorities have prohibited the entry to the beach.

This beach is absolutely wonderful! It's very nice, neat, and clean. The scenery is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. A perfect spot for a day of sun and surf

I would recommend using scooty or small cars up to this place as there is not much parking space near the cliff. One can park on the road side. On the north side of the cliff, lot of cafes, resorts and shops are there which one can explore at leisure. The beach is accessible from here. Great place to sit and watch sunset.

Best place to visit & entertain with your family or friends. They had restrictions for night bath in beach only, otherwise they set us to vibe in the beach even late nights too.

One of the best Cliff Beach in Kerala. The Cliff in Varkala shore is good for walk, fun and spend nice time. It's a stretch of approximately 2 to 3 km of cliff, most of home stays, Hotels, Cafe and shopping are on this stretch. It extends between helipad and black sand beach.

I recently visited the Janardhana Swamy Temple in Varkala, Kerala, and it was a truly enchanting experience. The Jatayu Earth Centre is a beautiful installation on top of a hill. The sculpture of the mythical bird Jatayu is brilliant and the views from atop the hill is breath taking. The park is well maintained. Offers ample amount of parking sace. The cable car ride is also a good experience.Having said all these, the ticket charges are quite high. They charge around 200 Rs for entry and another 250 for the cable car ride. This is weird because people cannot enter the park on top by any means other than the cable car. The museum (advertised) that is supposed to exist inside the sculpture is not functioning. There are no other attractions either. An arcade gaming area for kids is present - but is quite basic.Not sure if the centre has enough attractions to warrant a trip to the place itself. However, if you are on the way on MC Road or are visiting other places near by, it is a good place to be (if you are okay to shell out 500 bucks).

MUST CARRY CASHAfter all the push for digital money, this tourist attraction still requires you to carry cash as only cash is accepted for entry ticket (₹250 on a weekday, not sure about holidays and weekends). Since there are no other ways to make the booking, you can’t reserve tickets in advance and you have to wait in line which can be quite long on holidays.You can choose to climb up the hill by walking or via cable car. The cable car is an interesting journey and worth it. For this, you need to take an additional ticket which can be paid using your card.Once you reach the view point, it’s serene and beautiful. Try to go in the evening as the view is just amazing.There are small eateries and gifts shops on top. There is also small temple which adds to the trip, but be careful of the monkeys that are near the temple.It’s definitely a one time visit.

It's a nice experience. You must go there once... The view from the top is breathtaking... you can also visit the Sri Ramakrishna temple and do offerings. But I think the rate is a bit high.. entry fee was Rs.295 and Rs 315 or something for the cable car. You can also go to the top by walking but still have to pay the entrance fee. Also you can do adventure activities which are separately payable. Overall nice experience.

Very nice place. Although ticket rate is higher, the experience that we get here is worth the money.Well behaviour from staff. Few constructions are still in progress so once it's all complete, again it will be more great place to see. There is a cable car or ropeway to reach the hill top. Jatayu sculpture is so amazing to see. There is also a very nice view of the lush greenery from the hilltop. Plastic is prohibited, so make sure not to carry it. Car parking facility is available.

Fantastic sculpture carved out of rock. It's worth seeing.The view from the top... Wow! The view of the greenery of the land all around you is amazing.Pleasant weather at the top since there's wind blowing all the time. Even though it's hot down, it gets cooler at the top.Cable car ride was amazing, sufficient parking available, wheelchair friendly. Ignore going in high temperature days as there's minimum shelter at the top.

Very nice place for a half-day outing.The Jatayu Rock is very detailed and is a completely different experience to see in person.The Ram temple was also a very nice temple with nice architecture.The structure is 1km above the ground. We can either take the steps (826) or the cable car.There are also cafes at the top and bottom.The park is not fully open as some activities like the 6d show above is yet to come.

Beautiful place to visit with family. Having a rope way facility for senior citizens for reaching at the top. One can climb 880 stairs if like to walk through. It's a nice experience to climb those stairs since all raod is covered with green trees. The Jatayu sculpture is huge and built beautifully. It is also well maintained. Must visit place for all.

We had paid a visit to Jadyau earth centre recently post corona (2022) ; the park is well maintained, good view from the park and also a provide lot of outdoor activities(with added charges). The sculpture is definitely gorgeous.I felt the entry fee is quite expensive- ticket charge 500/head(250 entry + 250 Cable car) (7$) (as of 2022 Apr) and they even charge for kids who are above 90 cm. You are not getting any value for spending this money as this is just to enter the park.

Nice place to spend a wonderful time. The Jatayu stone sculpture is one of its kind and there is a small temple that was recently renovated. The view from the hill top is good. The cable car ride is okay. Parking space, cleanliness and how well they maintain it is really appreciable. Better to visit there before 10AM or After 3 PM. The entry fees and cable car ride fee is separate. Cant be specific about the rates, since they are increasing it every 3-4 months. People who opt to take the walk way need to climb the mountain for nearly 1 KM.Note: But do not expect more. Just go with peace of mind and enjoy the moment.

Jatayu, King of Vultures.World's largest bird sculpture At Jatayu Earth's centre, Kerala, India.Management was good, process was smooth but very commercial place and they don't accept online/card payments, must carry cash... we had to travel back 1km to get cash from ATM. There is a walking way but it's closed and they allow through cable cars it's a smart move i would say, we have to pay the up and down cost at the same time.. i feel going up via cable car is good and come down by walk would be better so we can save some money here... it's always a personal choice. and sadly the museum inside sculpture is closed due to some repairs but they didn't inform it either and looting full money. i felt it's only the place i spent lot of money for just visiting.there are some food stalls and of course overpriced, there is a AC waiting hall inside we can rest for a while, and 8D adventure theatre is also available. drone is not allowed.

This is the largest Bird sculpture in the world. The day we went there it was raining. But that happened to be the best time as this sculpture was on the top of a hill, there was not any direct sunlight that could scorch is, else it would have been very difficult to stand in hot sun.The museum is yet to open but the experience to travel through cable car was also beautiful. It is definitely a one time visit place with your friends and family.The view from the top is mesmerizing. You could see the fog from far forest elevating towards the sky .Really enjoyed the experience here.

It's good place to visit and the view from this place is awesome. We need to buy tickets to reach here. There are two options to reach here. One is to walk and climb the steps and another option is to go in cable car. If you want to go in cable car then the ticket price is 500 per person for up and down. The cable car ticket will be given in first floor after we purchased park entry ticket. The staff was very friendly and cooperative.

In January, we visited this location anticipating chilly weather, only to find it pleasantly warm. The statue, grand and exquisite, was worth the journey, albeit a tad tiresome. Entry involved two tickets: one for admission and another for statue access. Two routes lead to the statue: a walk from the entrance or a cablecar option, albeit with long wait times due to capacity constraints. Toilets and a modest canteen provided refreshments during the wait. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, with commendable maintenance throughout the site.

Located on the Trivandrum-Kollam State Highway, after Chadayamangalam junction, Jatayu Rock Center is the best tourist spot that offers all the necessary facilities.This place has a very large paid parking area. You need to pay around 300 for an entry ticket. Once you enter the park, you can decide how to reach the top of the rock. There are two options for reaching the top. You can either go by cable car or climb more than 300 steps. If you choose the cable car, you need to pay an additional 320 per person (two-way ticket) along with the entry ticket. However, if you choose to climb the steps, there is no additional cost.We paid an additional charge for the cable car and had to wait for around 70 minutes to get in it. The cable car ride took around 15 minutes to reach the top of the rock. At the top, there are small tea shops and snack corners available, as well as an open stage for artists to perform. Jatayu Rock was absolutely breathtaking, and near it, there is a Ram temple. If you visit in the evening, both the Jatayu statue and the Ram Temple will provide a magnificent and breathtaking view.

Thenmala Adventure Zone is a nice place to be if it was maintained properly. Canopy walk is closed half way. Many of the other rides and facilities are either closed or partially functional. Pedal boating was a nice experience. Most of the rides have no maintenance. Thankfully the park is covered with huge trees giving a refreshing feeling. Restrooms are basic but cleanliness is good. With proper maintenance and planning this place could have been a awesome place. Staffs are generally pleasant and helpful. Weekdays would be less congested.

Elevated walk way is excellent. Till you go down to adventure zone it's good, You feel natures great atmosphere. Ticket price for Adventure zone is Rs. 480/- per adult, is not worth the money you are paying, but if you take only entry ticket it's Rs.70/- it's worth, you can enjoy few activities and spend some time over there.

Waste of time. Ticket charges are high and not worth visiting.

A passably amusing escapade in Thenmala. The walk down the rugged stone path leads to the adventure zone. There you would find the board walk, rope cross, rope tunnel, boating, flying fox, river cross, water walk in the inflated ball, vertical net climb, cycling, shooting and Kids’ Park.The area is extremely low on maintenance. I saw a kid fall of the bicycle because its tire came off. The inflated ball was actually deflated. The vertical net climb was dismantled. The kids’ park was totally out-of-use due to zero repairs. The rest of the adventure activities just exist there without upkeep, ready to collapse at any moment. There are just two persons to guide you through the sports.You would get three rounds of firing in the shooting area. The flying fox is a 30 second quick descent from an elevated point. The board walk wires are barely held strongly. The boating is within a pond just the size of a badminton court. The place is a mere half-day adventure visit. Not more than that. Few people and school kids come as groups to the place. The place has survived so far because there is no other such adventure park in Kerala itself. So it attracts a minimal crowd.

This is the Disappointment Zone!Entrance for foreigners costs 700 rupees per person. And for this money we received a closed walking trail, which is on their booklets. Next Flying fox attraction. 20 seconds of flight, when the straps dig into the body and instead of enjoying the flight, you dream that it will stop as soon as possible. At the same time, we stood in line for it for about an hour, because the rope for the flight takes 2 minutes to get back!At the rifle for shooting, the sight was broken and only 3 shots are given per person)))The stairs at the climbing area are broken and it is impossible to use it.There are some swings, which, of course, are also broken.In the picture in the zorb you can run around the lake, but in reality it has 3 meters on the ground, where you can run from side to side.In general, there is absolutely nothing for adults to do there. Especially for such money! I feel cheated, as do my companions.Better go to the dam, it's much more interesting there!

Amazing place to spend a holiday. A different experience especially for couples and family. Some rides are friendly for women but some are a bit difficult, I think that's what make them adventurous. I wish that they add more safe guards soon, preferably few female staffs whom women visitors feel more comfortable with. One major demerit is there were no toilets especially for women inside the zone (but there's one only in exit)

The zone is full of activities, but the sad part is that only a few are functional. They are taking the full amount for ticket, but offers only a handful of activities. Even the sky walk is closed partially.

Great place to spend time with your friends and family. Lot of activities too. Elevated walkway is closed because of maintenance, it's been closed for past 6 months, It's surrounded by trees. So you can enjoy fresh air. Staffs are very helpful. Weekdays are less crowded.

So many games for kids and adults....but No proper staffs to guide the visitors and no proper announcement on stopped games... activities have been stopped for lunch break where all the visitors are made to wait... price for adult is 480/- kids 360/-worth nothing. We have to play with our own risk...

A peaceful sculpture park on the bank of Kallada Dam

This place has a lot of activities. Boating, rock climbing, zip line, activities for kids. It's a nice place for a one day trip. Better to reach here early in the morning as it will be tiring to do the activities later due to heat. Wear shoes as there is a lot of walking to do. Carry water bottles.

I visited the place with my family and we unexpectedly get to know about the place and visited the adventure zone. It found the place interesting and had a good quality time with my family and there are so many games and adventure for adults as well as kids. I felt If more care is taken on handling the place it will be more good and sound great and will attract more people. Its responsibility of all the people over there as well as the visitors to keep the place sound and clean so don't threw away unnecessary things and donot harm the environment as well. Just try it out will love the place.

It is a unique experience. Magic and music shows by the distinctly abled children who have been trained and taken care of by committed teachers of magic planet. Circus and magic shows, drama shows and it goes on.But six hours is long and it is difficult to manage children. Who get restive. Add to that the problem of language. If you do not know Malayalam, then the first part is a punishment.Reducing it to around three and half hours putting lot of the first part and some lengthy videos into a beautiful brochure would do lot of good.A great humanitarian initiative. Should be supported by all.

Good place for family and childrens. Show starts from morning 10 AM to 5 PM. Must watch mentalist, fantasia and circus castle. Quality shows and talented artists.

Out of words to describe my feelings after visiting magic planet. Thanks to everyone, staffs, parents and especially Muthukad Uncle for Magic planet. Definitely going back 😊We went to magic planet on 18 Dec 2021.Due to Covid, they are open only from 4pm to 9pm, expect Mondays. Pre booking required.First there was an inducation, then an itinerary was distributed. There were 10 programs, on the day we went. It was coordinated well by the staffs. Programs were - Different arts centre performances, Comedy magic show, Circus show, Street magic show, Dramagic show, Mpower show and Illusion magic show.The shows had 5 mins break in between for tea and toilet breaks. There is a coffee shop with snaks. Toilets are managed neatly.What surprised me is that, they are not enforcing any ticket fee. You will be surprised by the energy of the super friends here. You can spend a day with them, sponsor meals on your birthdays or donate via bank transfer.These super friends are now employees of magic planet with monthly salary. It is possible to buy handcrafted items from their mothers' as well.Magic planet's dream is to build a Universal magic studio for all Super friends out their. (The building construction already started at Kinfra Park!). Also, its their dream to send a child to Paralympics 2024, and return with a medal.Update March 2022I sponsored meals on my birthday. Its Rs. 8500 for veg meals and Rs.15,000 for chicken biriyani. Food that you sponsor will be shared with the children, their parents and staffs.You can also join along with them during lunch. If you reach early, you can spend some time with them as well.Went 2 times, couldn't meet Muthukaud uncle both times. Hope to see him next time.

A great experience that touches your mind and heart.It has elements of circus, magic, social welfare, theater, cottage industry, orchestra, dances, classical music all woven into the whole experience.We went with small children. They were engaged in the fun atmosphere. I would say our whole family was well entertained.I wouldn't recommend the "Tempest" show for younger kids as they will struggle with reality vs show elements.

This is a place to visit, not just for the daily shows but for the services being provided to bring about a change in the minds of those with intellectual disability. There is a marked improvement in the mental health of the children here after being involved in magic and the performances here. God bless the supporters of this project and more people should visit this place to help in its growth.

Had such a fun time with family and cousins here. The place has ample amount of parking space, amazing service staffs and beautiful scenery. Very nature based and the canteen here is also very clean maintained and good tea and coffee. The specially abled kids there showcased their best talents and they were very welcoming. Definitely will visit again.(Note: there is no specific fee to enter the place, they just suggest us to pay ₹500 per person and every rupee goes to charity and well being of the place❤️)

A must visit place in Trivandrum..! The show timing is from 4-9pm and it is totally engaging. Got to see so many beautiful specially abled kids performing. They have many talented magicians as well. We got a surprise chance to meet the “Magic Uncle” Muthukad Sir. This place runs for a good cause, so I personally request everyone to visit and support. All the staff were so friendly and they have a decent snack varieties also. So it is the best option to spend your day off evening. There is a stall where you can buy items made by their mothers. There is no entry fee or ticket. You can donate any amount as per your wish. A great humanitarian move by our great magician Gopinath Muthukad sir. This kind of initiatives should be supported by all.

What a delightful experience we had. A not to miss spot in trivandrum.The 7 hr show or a series of shows keeps you glued throughout. The integration of magicians, circus performers and specially abled but unbelievably talented inmates of the place makes it a unique experience. The way its specially abled inmates have been trained by the magic planet trainers to perform magic tricks, display their paintings, render their songs and musical instruments is simply incredible. So you dont feel sorry for the inmates but marvel at their confidence and perfection achieved by them in their respective skills.You need to prebook one day in advance plus check in advance about their show timings. Some days its 930 to 430 pm and other days its 330pm to 1030 pm. Their timings given on the google are thus not correct. Since its a 7 hr show, so they provide limited menu for your lunch/dinner, as you cannot leave the show in between.

This place is magical (pun intended). This place is a haven for all the street magicians and differently abled people.It has magic shows and all those children perform magic tricks and showcase their talent. It also has a magic show by Mohammed Shanu and the vibe of this place is mesmerizing, it makes you never want to leave. Overall a magical experience.

The place and experience is good, however had some major issues with their conduct.1. The place was closed on Monday. So we went on Tuesday, this day also they decided not to function! Due to which my whole plan was upset. They abruptly decide when to have morning show and when to have evening show. Not sure what's the case here.2. All the shows, the talk are in Malayalam. Being a tourist place expect them to also speak in English! Surprisingly no one knew English.3. Although there was a language barrier, the people were nice, but couldn't understand a word.4. There are many shows, the real magic show is probably two or three. Rest are all shows and showcase from the differently ables children that they train.5. Better be here in the morning and the main shows are in the start. If you miss them, don't think you can attend them again.

A nice location to chill!!! But probably it will be crowded. A bus will take us to to the waterfall. Ticket cost is ₹50 per head, parking charges also same. It has some steps to climb to get to get a close view. The bathing/swimming location is not near the waterfall, its currently on renovation. Place is still restarting after pandemic.

Waterfalls in the midst of lush green forest. We have to inside from trivandrum-ariyankaavu road & reach upto the parking area near forest checkpost. From there we will taken by buses of forest department for 4km & dropped @ a point. There a good tea & snacks shop here. From here we have to trek a little bit to reach upto waterfall area. There is ladies changing rooms near the falls. Great experience & really fulfilling.

Palaruvi waterfalls was an amazing experience.We went there from Tamil Nadu. Buses were easily available that went directly to the waterfalls stop. We didn’t know Malayalam but somehow managed to communicate in English with the forest rangers who were very helpful.Private vehicles are not allowed beyond the entry point.A shuttle bus is provided which takes us to the waterfalls.The ticket price is 70₹ per person.The way to the waterfalls is quite scenic.Coming to the waterfalls itself , there are changing rooms available for ladies and separate places for families and men.You can get into the water where you can enjoy as much as possible. There are rangers everywhere for safety. The place is very clean and the rangers continuously keep it clean and tidy.I must say this is one of the best tourist spots I have visited and I am giving it a 5 star.This is a must go if you like nature and waterfalls.

Wow! Very Nice place and Waterfalls. Palaruvi gave us such a good experience that we thought we had not been here for so many days. Looking at this place it seemed that the Kerala tourism department has maintained it in a very beautiful way. When we went, the water was rushing very fast in the waterfall. It is a very beautiful moment.. It is a very beautiful place to see and enjoy..We came as friends and decided that next time we should bring everyone with family..Only one hour is allowed. However, isn't an hour enough in that beautiful place? That is the only minor disappointment but everything else is very beautiful..

Palaruvi is under the maintenance of the kerala government. It has parking facilities. We have to park our vehicles beast the ticket counter area and from there we’ll be taken to the falls through their bus. Once we reach there we can have coffee or snacks in their canteen . From there we need to walk some steps to have a bath in palaruvi waterfalls. As the steps are of rocks it might be hard for old people but during our visit I saw many old people climbed it effortlessly. So they can take rest in middle and reach the falls. There is a dressing room for women which is quite neat. So ladies can use them but must have the belongings safe as there are monkeys around .

Falls in the middle of Kerala forest is well maintained and clean, strict rules are enforced about not throwing plastic and waste about, which is a good initiative. Few pointers1. You need to take only the local forest bus up to the falls so you need to buy tickets. During the day, queues can be quite long. So go early or ensure one person from your group stands in line before another buys the tickets2. There is a small cafe where the bus drops you off near the falls. Limited items available. You may have a long wait before you are able to actually get what you paid for.3. The walk up to the falls and even down to the bathing area is very uneven and slippery at times, so be careful while walking.4. The view point at the top is beautiful, although a very steep walk ahead5. There is a changing room for the women, which is a huge plus point.6. If visiting during day, advised to carry enough water and small snacks while you wait to get on the bus.7. Treat people with respect! And don’t be a nuisance!Beautiful views, nice memories to create 😀 worth the visit if you’re up to quite a hike.

This is one of the best waterfall I have seen in South India. Ample of parking space available that to inside the jungle. You have to take the entry ticket and then you have to get inside the government bus which will take you to the waterfall which is approximately 3-4 km from parking. When we went there there was heavy water flow which was mesmerizing. but the bathing area is little small so that in case of heavy crowd they will allow only for 1 hour for one group.. beware of the monkees out there..

Best place to take a touch of cold milky water. Feels like relaxed. Best place to come with friends or family. There ia a bus service to take us there. It's only 50 rs per person. Worth a lot.

Overall a great experience and recommended place to visit. The water fall is amazing and can go to top to have a watch to view point. Also we can goo beneath to falls but pathway was damages when I visited. The only bad experience here is the waiting shed of bus which is made of glass and very hot to stand there. There are 4 buses taking to the water falls. The entry fee is Rs 50 per person and parking cost Rs 50 for car. Overall great experience and good place to visit.

Milk flowing from up the sky, palaruvi waterfalls literally give this feel. From the ticket counter to the waterfall it's 4 km distance. Only 4 buses operated by the forest department commutes the visitors to and fro the waterfalls located at a pretty good height up in the mountains. 70 rupees per head is the charge plus 60 rupees for car parking. Keeping water bottles handy will be useful. There is only one small tea and snacks cafe operated by the Kerala Forest department staffs which is crowded usually and takes time to fetch a small cup of tea or banana fry like snacks. Those who come prepared to take a shower in the waters flowing from the falls can enjoy amidst the crowds. The falls go fully functional only during steady rainy season. It takes minimum 1hr 20 minutes to just see take pictures and come back from, including the waiting time to board the bus.

Palaruvi is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Kollam district. I reached around 3 pm, the place was pretty crowded because of the holiday. The view from the top of the small rock cascade is serene and the water is so cool. You can bathe under the waterfall if the water level is low. The rock in the down can be a bit slippery as well.To reach here, you can use, public transportation or a Pvt vehicle. The ticket will cost around 75 rs per person. Palaruvi is located 4km from the ticket counter, so they offer a small bus ride, inside the forest, that's wonderful to go through.The best time of the season is after the monsoons and avoid dry seasons. If you want to bathe, consider taking towels because I didn't see many souvenir places around.

Visited this place in mid summer, So there was less water. it affect the beauty of the waterfall, and also we arrived in the afternoon, so I prefer to lie in the water without giving much importance to photography. Nice place to visit with or without family or friends. The coolness of water may touch our soul. The water fall is also beautiful. It's worth spending an hour or two. The staff have succeeded in creating a positive environment here.

Palaruvi is one of the best waterfalls in kerala the name of the waterfall is 100 percent suited for the view of this waterfall. The water flowing looks like milk falling from the top. Palaruvi is situated 4-5 km inside of the main road. There is a lot of parking space in the jungle near the parking space there is a ticket counter. We can pay and collect the tickets from the counter and wait for their bus for 10-20 minutes. They don't allow our own vehicle to reach the waterfall they provide government buses for transportation. The waterfall is 3-4 km away from the parking space. The water flow rate is low because we went there in february first week which is not a rainy season. In rainy season the water flows rate increases and there is a rush occurs due to the visitors. There are 3 bathing spaces allotted for family, gents and ladies. Beware of the slippery rocks and monkeys both are dangerous in some situations.

It’s quite peaceful area. No other vehicles allowed to this waterfall area so to reach here there’s a bus arranged by tourism department for use this service needs to pay around 70INR. it will take 15 minute bus drive to reach this location.

Always Kerala is way better than other states in tourism. They have best management in staff and hygiene. Roads and parking are great. They arranged transport from parking area to water falls. Neatly maintained place, enough seats are provided to the visitors to take a rest while exploring the zoo. There is adequate shade from the trees all over the walkways. Wonderful place, especially for kids. Full of trees, so one won't feel the summer heat much. Good number of birds and animals. Zebra, giraffe and a big vulture which used to be there few years back are missing now.My personal favourite are the hippos. Overall very well maintained. Parking available inside at Rs. 150. Also battery operated carts to see around the zoo (though I've never used as I prefer walking)

A beautiful place with all kinds of beautiful animals! You'll find tigers, different birds, reptiles, wild animals and snakes.The entire zoo is well maintained and it's fun walking there, there's rush on holidays but again it doesn't take away the charm of the place.Also there's aquarium and natural historical museum in the same area but different tickets. Food is good too, but it's usually crowded.2-3 hours will be good for the whole thing.Great to go with family especially kids.

It's the best Zoo in Kerala currently. Decently clean and well maintained. Has a good bunch of animals too.It's a plastic free zone so pack your bags accordingly. Plastic bottles can be taken inside but you need to pay Rs. 20 per bottle which is refundable on producing at exit. Also mask is compulsory but not required to wear 🥴.There are electric battery cars for rental but it's fast booked.

A Must visit place.. there option for a zoo cart which will be better for elderly which will cost about Rs. 800..on weekends and holidays parking will be an issue and is better to go for paid parking at the side entrance (Rs.150) rather than trying to get a free spot at the adjacent roads..Canteen and toilets facilities are there inside the zoo though are not well maintained.. The best timings will be from 10 to 11.30..

An old style zoo, with some animals kept in open enclosures and some other in steel cages.Some enclosures in not very good conditions and overcrowded.Some maintenance works were ongoing.A favourable point is the prohibition of plastic, including plastic water bottles, allowed only with a deposit, way higher than the bottle cost. What a fantastic zoo! I had an amazing time exploring all the different animal exhibits. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great family day out! A visit to this zoo is a must if you're in the area. The variety of animals is impressive, and the enclosures seem spacious and well-maintained. Will visit again

I went with my workmates and spent some time there. It was nice to go with them, but the walk was really tiring. The hot weather was not to our advantage. And we were not able to see all the animals over there. That disappointed us.We could only see the lion by accident and was not able to see the tiger there anywhere.Until next time then.

One of the best zoos that I have visited so far. Tigers, white Tiger, leopard, hyena, Lion, deer, monkey, reptiles, birds, hippopotamus, bear etc are the main attractions. A butterfly garden is also there. Lots of greenery and shades allow us to walk freely under the sun.Entry fee ₹30 for adults and ₹10 for kids between 5-12 yrs age. Parking charge inside the zoo for 4 wheelers is ₹150 which is ridiculously high. Plastic bottles and items are not allowed. A cloak room is available at the entrance. Toilets are there inside the zoo premises.

Me and my kid were bored, so we decided to go to Zoo. As we planned, we were excited to see animals, near by. Especially we both were eager to see the wildest carnivores. After seeing Lions and Tigers in TV, there was an expectation to see them live as I have read in Kenneth Anderson books that they kill and can even carry a young buffalo on ther shoulder back... I wondered if it was possible, but when I saw, I understood it was possible.

Enjoyable place with nature. Place is too clean and properly maintained. No plastics bags and water bottles are allowed. If you definitely need that thing, you may pay fine and they give one sticker for that things. After you exit the gate you show that things to the officer, he will give your money back. I recommend that don't go with plastic bags and bottles. Animals may eat or surrounding may pollute. So avoid please. Keep environment as it is.Thank you❤️.

The animals are seen at their natural environment. The zoo is really big with many carnivores and herbivores enjoying their freedom within the enclosures. It also showcases many tropical plants and is a miniature forest. One wonderful thing was that there are useful information about the habitat,origin, apart from their scientific names and common names which was very educative. A serious student of biological sciences would find it useful. A must destination for kids with their friends and family. An ideal place for picnics and get-together. The entrance is very modest.

Overall its good, with lots of trees and walking paths. It is very clean and well maintained. The only issue is that there are very few animals now than the last time I have visited.

The new Two green anaconda steels the show. Nice place to walk but if you think to take the travel car/cart. It's 800rs per head. Not worth the car. It's worth walking. Very few birds but too many Huge Tigers...

Had a great time here with family. There is some distance to walk within the zoo, which may be tiresome during hot and humid conditions. There are Asiatic lions, tigers (white as well), hyena, leopards and so on including many varieties of birds. The infrastructure is good and after the exit there is a small nice eatery of KTDC which serves some good cold non-alcoholic beverages and light refreshments. Overall, it offers a great place to walk under the shade of big trees.

The zoo is serene and calm, lots of different animals and birds to view. A good place for kids to enjoy and rejuvenate.Personally I feel for the animals, the wild is their call and they should be free in wild. Though they are taken care of they don't have the space to be free, i have visited the zoo probably after decades but i enjoyed it.

Shadow available due to huge trees is the greatest plus point while walking during summer. Nicely maintained, not all separates have animals, some were empty. But overall a good place.

Temple brings the peace that is very indeed present at the depth of heart. Only dhotis are allowed to wear for boys and also without shirt. So remember only dhotis without shirts. Dhotis are available for rent are temple premises itself. If need to buy one then the market area is very close to the temple. There all things could be found like food, clothing,bags, gadgets and etc, the security personnels over there are very helpful and ready to guide. Pilgrims attending from across the country make the temple darshan more special. Finally visit the main deity and also some small shrines are present and worth visiting them too.

The temple is very neat and clean. The temple is situated nearest to the KSRTC bus stand. 4,5 Km far from the railway station. Only Hindus and government officials would be let in the temple's main part. There is high security on all sides of the Temple. We couldn't see the Kalavara part .overall nice.

This place is undergoing some maintenence/ extension, so when we visited, the walk wasn't the best thanks to the pavementsThere are about 15-18 elephants, and each of them have a different story of how these elephants reached the training centre. Apparently. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly and helped us in every possible way. We grabbed lunch from the canteen, which was quite decent for the money.

It was horrible, it is not a rehabilitation center, it is torture for the animals. I am a biologist from Europe and you can see how the animals suffer, because they are tied up to a tree and are not able to move. Because of that, of course you can see agressive and mentally ill behaviour. How can somebody do that? There is so much space, where the animals could move around, they just have to make any kind of fence to protect people. That is not difficult. Many countries have rehabilitation centers, but the elephants can run free for the whole day. It is possible there too, plenty of wonderful beautiful place, so you really have to change it, when you want to do something for nature and the elephants! You have to change the way you treat these poor elephants, give them a lot of space and a feeling of freedom, what every elephant needs, especially in a so called "rehabilitation center"!!! What is the problem to do that? It is your responsibility to take good care of the elephants. Give them plenty of space, what you already have. Change it!

A well maintained crockodile park inside the beautifull Neyyar dam catchment area and possess different species of crocodiles .The park was dedicated to the great crocodile researcher Steve Irwin

Its a nice place to visit, you can see more than 10 elephants including calfs. Elephant safaris are not available, and approaching or touching the elephants is prohibited. The area is undergoing modern developments. They are treating elephants well. All the elephants that I saw were healthy and happy.

India's first elephant rehabilitation centre. It's a fantastic destination to explore, with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff here are exceptional, providing excellent care for the elephants who are all content and joyful. Each elephant has their own cozy house, and there are spacious outdoor and indoor areas for them to roam freely. It's a great spot for leisurely walks, enjoying the refreshing cool breeze. Moreover, this place even offers river house boating, adding to its charm. I personally like this place due to the atmosphere 👌

I wonder where these elephants get rehabilitated to? Not to go back to where they came from. Apparently they take orphaned little ones here to "rehabilitate". Nobel as it sounds, when we went there they were all chained with 2 legs to trees on a 30cm chain. One Elephant was so distressed it couldn't stop shaking. One was tied so oddly it had to stand in a full split position and couldn't move. All under the guise of being "dangerous"..A keeper walked past another one signaling it to move and the animal did in like in a circus.I don't see why you have a park that big and you can't let the animals roam free? They don't need guidance, they just need a space to be, to live and to play.They get fed and walked but then just chained up again for hours at a time. Kerala government, you put all this money in to reconstruct this area. Please do something about this, it's horrible to watch. Majestic animals like this should not be treated this way.

Lot of construction activities going on. It looks like several trees have been cut. The amount of greenery has definitely been reduced. The approach road was also under repair when we went, the staff said the road work is expected to be done by the end of January.

Dam is beautiful. maybe due to covid very less people's are visiting daily. bike parking 10 rs, entry fee 10 rs ..gardens are not maintaining properly. boat ride was there . govt should focus more on garden, more activities inside dam area like light and sound program, etc..

A good(but not great) place to spend an evening with your family.Well there's nothing much to see and explore view of the dam and the catchment area is spectacular. There's small garden around the areas of the dam but it's not that big. There's is a Ktdc beer parlour and hotel nearby the dam . If you want to stay for an evening you may stay there. Also boating is available. There was lion safari available but now it's closed due to death of the lions.There is also a alligator farm nearby the dam. Apart from that nothing much to see and explore.

One of the best to visit in trivandrum. Opens at 9am and closes at 6pm. Best time to visit is evening. It will give much mesmerizing views of dam, sunset and much more. Very good parking area.

This is a must visit place if you are traveling to Trivandrum. This is an attraction for all age groups from kids to senior citizens. The highlights of the place is the sight of the water flowing from the dam structure. The sight and sound of it calms you. There are multiple parks inside which are neatly maintained. There are lawns all over with shady benches to relax and enjoy the nature. The steps take you to the top of the dam. There is a watch tower at the top which gives a great 360 degree view. There is a KTDC restaurant at the top. The service is great and food is good. The rates are nominal. The view is again great from this restaurant. There were lions maintained in a Lion Safari earlier. But these are closed now. Was informed that the lions died of ailments. Cars can be parked safely under shade. You can spend more than half a day here with friends and family enjoying the view of the dam, reservoir, lawns and forests around.

Nice place to visit with family. You will be lucky if the shutters of the dam are open. Around the dam there are dear park, crocodile park, boating and lion safari park(no lions currently ). Check the rate with the staffs there before you do any activity. Could have make this place better.

A beautiful trip suitable for a family atmosphere, the place is a dam and a beautiful water body, it is possible to use the boat to move to the place of the wildlife reserve, there you will see elephants, crocodiles and deer, and then return again with the same boat. The trip using the boat back and forth with the tour inside the reserve (accompanied by a guide) may take an hour to an hour and a half until the return

It was a good space for walking and just let the time pass. I wish it was maintained though, coz there were garbage in the garden near the cottages. Went here around 5pm and the view was nice. I didn't see any restaurant nearby.

Larger dam with a larger fountain. They don't use this fountain area wisely for tourists. A scenic view and good option for a couple on weekdays.parking fee car 25 per head 10 and bike i think 15. Lots of areas.

This dam offers an absolutely breathtaking view. You can either park your car and climb up or drive up. I'm told it's quite the climb, so be ready for that commitment if you were to climb up. They have various boat and speed boat rides. The ride was nice and offered amazing view. There's also a building structure on the top which you can climb on to of (like a lighthouse) and enjoy the view up top. There's a small entry fee and the rides are decently priced. A little further away is an elephant training camp, deer park etc. The elephant camp has "kotta vanji" or coracle boat ride, which seemed more appealing as there wouldn't be the noise from the motor in the street boat, we did not try this though. There's a milma ice cream place for an ice cream break.

The enormous structure of the dam will leave you in awe. The parks adjacent to it provides a peaceful experience.The best part that I liked was the various kinds of boating. Out if which my favorite was wildlife boating where we were taken through the twists and turns of the water to the "wildlife preservation centre" which is a nature retreat in itself and one worth visiting.You can bring your family or friends and have a nice day here within a budget.Also there's a swimming pool if you're interested

Today we have visited this place. Very very nice place and must visit once especially the two hours boating trip. It's a marvelous journey.

A calm, scenic place, with a beautiful dam – a view that’s especially inviting for a camera if the skies are clear and the dam shutters are open. Once in, there is quite a bit to do here. We went for a boating – just the 5 of us in a boat meant for more folks – with stops at the Deer Park and the Crocodile Rehabilitation and Research Centre. The Lion Safari was not open at that point since a few of the lionesses were undergoing medical support. The view from the watch tower is absolutely breath-taking if you're game to climb up all those stairs. A lovely half- to full-day trip from Thiruvananthapuram city.

The Lions are dead so safari is not happening. Boat ride and staff are good. 3 people speed boat ₹750+ 15 per head for so called reserve forest. Entry not allowed but they collect anyway.Climb to the top from down is not for the weak or elderly#750 for 20 minutes boat ride in safari boat for 6 people 30 minutes for ₹1100. These also ₹15 / person for entry to reserve they charge.

The neyyar dam looks beautiful but not clean they have to improve the facilities Their toilets are not clean inside and the dam area is not cleaned properly. At the top of there is a small tower where we get beautiful views from there. In the top of the dam outside the dam get another ticket for boating,deer park visit and crocodile 🐊 park visit . Now they don't have lions Safari. Overall it is average

Neyyar dam and surrounding places are good. The view of the dam and the park nearby offers a good spot for family picnics. But the horrible thing is the "wildlife sanctuary". It's just a name for animals put under captivity in a confined space. The boating program includes boating to a nearby island which has the "deer park" and elephant and crocodile "rehabilitation" centre. There's nothing but very few crocodiles put in a cage and an elephant (yes, only one) in chains. They say that it's too old. And after that comes "deer park" - again lots of deer in a confined space, just like in a zoo! Why do they call this a wildlife sanctuary? I really don't know. This costs 250 per person!The natural beauty of the place is breathtaking and awesome! But why does the management do this? They could have turned this into something beautiful and memorable for the people who visit right? Totally unhappy with the management of tourism here. Now you decide whether to visit or not.

Even though the hygiene and maintainable are average regarding the eateries. There is very less vegetarian choice of food / meals available in the same. It would be better to carry the food and water to this spot. The park near the dam is a place that people spent the evenings. Overall Maintenence is poor in this reserve. The authorities cancel the boats whenever they feel like. The parking facility is too far. People park on the road side . The whole road is crowded and one can expect a long traffic jam there.

It’s 1 hour from Trivandrum city. The place has a crocodile park that can be accessed without a boat. Opens at 9 am.Nothing much to see. The sanctuary is on another island and we need to use a boat to see it. Took us about 1.25 hrs to enter the boat, see the 2 elephants, few deer and 2 crocodiles and return.To see the deer, you will need to go early before it gets too hot, else they will go up the hill and return only in the evening when it cools down. So please plan accordingly.We paid 250 per person. Not really worth the time and money, in my opinion.The lion park is not there anymore as the lions died.There is place to drink tea, coffee etc outside .You wont find any proper restaurants nearby, though. There is one ktdc but we dint try it.

Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a superb place, blending with nature—hills, lakes, forests, and parks. The boating from Wildlife Santuary to Deer Park was great! You can take a small walk inside the forest to reach the deer rehab park. There is plenty of space for kids, family, and friends. The crocadile park could be improved more to attract tourists! One thing that we missed was the lion safari, as new lions are yet to reach!

Small yet beautiful falls which is maintained decently. A view from the top is worth the time on spending to it.

Agasthiyar falls are on the way from Papanasam temple to the dam area. One has to walk 500 m to get to the falls from the parking area. Most of the people going there take a bath in the falls. A separate bathing area and dress changing facility is provided for women. Overall a nice picnic spot.It was good but they allow only up to 5 pm. Overall it was nice place to spend some time. Water was clean and there is a special Siva temple which should be visited...the water falls was not a very big one. separate bathing area for gents and ladies.ladies crowd also large and ladies area also small. for gents it quite large and crows also less. the area not so neat.weekends will be crowded.water flow was good when we went on august.the road from papanasam checkpost will be narrow and hilly.probablity of trafiic jam during weekend is very high. we had 2 hours of jam. beware of monkey. only two small hotels are there near the falls. during break fast they serve poori and idly and lunch only tomotto rice and curd rice. dont miss kalyana theertham the path way is not neat. but the view point is good and temple above is very divine.

The place is beautiful especially on a rainy day. The route/road was very good. There is a small section for womens as well to take bath in the water fall. The nearby pool is very deep and not suggested. One does not need permission to go to the falls. The overhall height of falls is not as high as places like kutralam. There are no restroom, changing rooms or any shops nearby.

This place is quite inside of city. Public transport is available upto Manimutharu village ( But the service is not a frequent , Only timing buses ). Need to buy tickets for falls by the check post near the dam and they charging for vehicle as well as for person. the entrance fee of 50 per person collected near Dam entrance forest checkpost. Only private vehicle is allowed , bikes not allowed and local people will be allowed for bike.We visited here at un-season time, so there is a less crowded people. The water is in huge flow so people are not allowed to bath. The water was so clean and chill . there is no dress changing rooms here.Note : In checkpost , entry for waterfalls closes by 15:00 HrsGet your own food before visiting this place because there is no food available here , Only snacks available.

The best place for outing to enjoy with family for a divert from stress.Normally people will be allowed to take bath but due to high flow of water we were not allowed to take bath dated 14/07/22.Entry ticket to be taken at the security entry point costs 30 rs per person.You can spend 1 to 2 hrs if allows to take bath or else 10 to 15 mins for a photoshoot.

Ambasamudram and Kallidaikurichi are the nearest towns from the dam area.

A superb water falls better than court allam. A very less crowded place and water falling from not very height. So we can enjoy the bath fully. Water is very pure and crystal clear and very chill too. Both ladies and gents can enjoy the falls and the scenery on the way to the falls. Dress changing room is available for ladies and they need not worry about it. Located some 50 kms away from tirunelveli. Tickets can be purchased in the entry itself. Connecting road is also of good condition. No snacks or shops thereSo we have to take the necessary food in advance only.

Water was less here in the month of June. The road continues to Manjolai after this falls but entry permitted only till 1pm, post which you need a special written permission. Entry to the falls is 40/- per person

We were lucky to have water flowing during our visit and enjoyed a refreshing bath under the waterfalls. The government should provide facilities for toilets at this tourist place which is much needed. Also there is lack of communications due to the absence of a mobile tower. Amazing waterfalls to take bath. Day times are mostly crowded by families and tourists, so it's recommended to visit early if possible. Seperate spaces available for men and women, with locker room and changing room available as well.Ample parking space available at the entrance, with lots of food stalls on the way to the falls. And it's upto the tourists to maintain the hygiene of the place!

best place for your summer destination. Bathing area of falls divided into men and women area. It will be so riah in peak summer time like may month. There is dress changing facilities but not that much clean during peak times. Have to wait for long. Evening is perfect time for boating.

One of the best weekends destinations with children. They enjoy the small waterfall. One of the main problems is the parking space on Sunday and public holidays. The narrow road to the location is also a problem. When another vehicle comes opposite then you are trapped. The main entry road leads to vehicle entry pass Rs.50/- There's a clock room for storage of your clothes and valuable with a cost of Rs. 40/-. Separate room is available for men and women for changing clothes and toilets also. There is an entry fee also. It's the side of the Siva temple and you can go to the dam and river on the other side of the temple from the road. It's also very beautiful ❤️ there is a children's park near to the waterfall. Kids also enjoy it.

Tiruparuppu Falls has become a must-visit destination in Kaniyakumari. Its a stunning natural falls thos who love water adventure and this is the spot you can enjoy a lot. Once you approach the falls, you can hear the roaring sounds of water. misty ambiance, making the entire area so chill and drizzle. The man made waterfalls is about 20 km from Nagercoil, where we stayed. Beware of the bumpy road to get there. Parking was an issue. There were lots of little shops selling holiday clothes and souvenirs. There was a nominal entrance fee. The falls itself was picturesque. There are segregated areas for men and women to bathe. There was a pool for those who don’t want to stand under the falls. But be careful of the mossy rocks. There are separate changing rooms with basic amenities. Nominal fee of Rupees 5 to use it. Altogether an enjoyable experience with some inconveniences

It is one of the best and must places to visit when u come to Kanyakumari.. it has multiple entry ways . The main entrance will cost u about 10rs for a person and you have to stand in a queue if it's season time and it will take you to the water falls and the swimming pool. The one entry point next to the main entrance will take you to boat rides and other small streams , parks etc.. overall it will be a good experience .. There will be cops in every corner to safe guard you. If you're coming in a 4 wheeler you'll have to take parking tickets. There's a lot of small hotels available in case you're hungry. Take care of your belongings and have a wonderful time.

This Waterfall is the best one to go if you are around and love water. They have separate gents, ladies section and as well common where couples can go together. It's clean and maintenance is also okay. They have a kids pool ad park as well with additional cost.

Must visit place.If you are coming to netta view point must come here. Hardly 7kms from netta.Neat waterfall is there. You can enter into waterfall. No restrictions was there. And an pool was there. For changing restrooms are there(paid I guess).For childrens there is a park here with many rides.You will definitely love the place.

It was fun walking alongside with the water channel connecting to another village. Evening times would be nice to walk and click few scenic pictures with friends and family members. Good time to be spent.

Wonderful place to hangout with friends.This bridge was built during the era of Former CM Kamarajar. This is built at the height of 115 feet.The water running through the channel is clean and sorrounded by scenic beauty and it's fun to walk on the bridge enjoying the lush green scenery.I would suggest to go at evening after 4.Car parking available and they charge 50/-Entry fee is 5/-

During my recent visit to this breathtaking location, I noticed a safety concern – the gap between side rails is significant, posing a risk for children slipping through. Considering the popularity of photo sessions, the existing safety precautions seem insufficient. I urge someone to bring this matter to the relevant authority for necessary action, ensuring a safer experience for all visitors.

Nice tourist place to visit !! It was built by Kamarajar ! Good view in the top, nice little walk.. few hours can be spent der.. road to bridge is not that good.. parking can be tricky,, c to it.. try getting pineapple there which they cultivate , very tasty it is. There is two way to reach top.. one way via only steps.. other way via very less steps.. go as per the convenience..

I planned to visit for Republic Day. But it was closed due to covid restrictions. How ever we were able to go to the other end of the bridge. The specialty of this bridge is it Accommodate small water stream and also helps people to move from one place to another . The stretch of the bridge is approximately 1 Km . My recommendation is to plan better by checking if it’s open or not.

Architecture was brilliant and wonderful. No water flow in aqueduct. Weather is good in the spot. You will get pineapple for cheap price. Small park is available for children to play. dinosaur statue is also there

Nice place to visit. Especially if you are visiting Kanyakumari do not miss this place.The view from the aqueduct is amazing. There is a small river flowing beneath the bridge and you can take bath. But the parking would be a bit difficult especially at the entry to the bridge. There is gorge on both sides of road with no rails.

Serene place amidst river, mountains, palm and banana tree plantation, but avoid during summer / hot season/time. Looks best when cloudy. Entry ticket Rs 5 per person. Fruits, coconut, etc available nearby.

The view point is alluring.Nice picnic point.There are no restaurants nearby.You can get some tender coconuts, pineapples from the local vendors.Pineapple here taste too good.There are few houses who sells coffee and cool drinks near to the stream.

A slice of history from previous century for moving water and people.Currently its viewed as a weekend evening spot. Has very good views from the top of the duct. Almost kerala like views.We have the duct at the top and at the bottom, we have a small stream where if needed can take bath.The duct was not in best nick. There seems to be no interest to maintain this place well and attract tourists.There was an entrance fee for both vehicles and humans.Just before this place there is a detour where we can reach this place in two ways. One reaches to the aqueduct at the top, and other reaches to the stream at the bottom. There are steps available from the aqueduct to the stream.There was also a small park situated near to the stream.Situated away from town, so there are no places/shops nearby.Overall a decent place to spend an evening.

Great place to visit and go for a walk on the river bridge at a height of 101 feet from ground level. It's provides a great view of the jungle around and the mountain range. A nice palce to visit with family and experience the bridge walk at just a nominal entrance fees of Rs 10.

Located in the Kanyakumari district approximately 50 km from Kanyakumari near Kerala border. It is claimed to be asia's highest aquiduct. Its length is around 300 m. It is built over parali river flows through Western ghats.. the small ponds called as lagoons between the lush green forest will mesmerize you and that beauty is unexplainable. The width of the pathway is just one and a half feet and if you have phobia of heights than it will be very difficult for you to cross the entire stretch. It will come on the way to Trivandrum just 1 hour distance from poovar back waters. You should adjust it in your itinerary while going towards Trivendrum.

It was sad to visit this historic site that has so much to offer to tourists & see very poor upkeep & signage. I would not recommend it to people visiting internationally. It’s rich in architecture & history and yet there is barely any information printed out and posted for visitors to understand the architecture & how the spaces were used. The volunteers there give you a basic introduction to each room “this is the dining hall” or “this is the ladies waiting room” but that’s about it. Most of the directional signage is broken. Many areas are closed off with sad broken, mismatched, uneven barriers. It’s hard to get a good photo of many areas (the dance hall is a great example of this) because of these barricades, garbage, old furniture, broken rails, electrical wires, exposed power panels & tiles/debris shoved in many corners. See pics. I’m sure the government of Kerala can do better.Right from the entrance gate, water fountains, to the room where you leave your shoes needs updating. India is so rich in culture so it’s always upsetting to see it maintained & presented in such a sad state.

The palace and its architecture were beautiful, worth a visit. The ticket counter doesn't allow any other mode of payment except cash. The way inside the palace is systematic. You may go for a family outing to see and imagine the lavish lives of its residents or just enjoy this historical site.

One of the oldest and largest wooden palaces in India. The government has maintained the place really well. The guides here provide some good insights of the palace. The architecture of the palace is so amazing. It takes a minimum of 2 hours at least to complete the entire tour. There are certain sections of the palace which are inaccessible perhaps due to its ancientness. And there are some scribblings on the walls and pillars which spoils the architecture a bit. There are some paintings that have been kept for viewers which actually depict the culture and other aspects of the kings life during those days A must visit if are nearby.The palace is open to the public from 2.00PM and it's advisable that you reach 30 mins earlier to avoid the rush in availing entry tickets.The palace is located just around 20 km from Nagercoil and upon arrival you have to take tickets which cost 40 per adult and 20 for a mobile camera for Indian citizens and only cash is accepted here. They also provide lockers to keep your footwear since it is prohibited inside the palace.

I had visited this place once during my childhood. There was a person who would come and explain each and every detail and the palace was filled with so much antique items. Now it feels like everything was empty. Though at each juncture there were people who were present to explain things to the visitors, none of the ladies there even bothered to look at us. A very nice place to visit and very interesting in knowing about the Prinece Queen lifestyle , architecture of palace, gardening , lighting inside the house, kitchen, 64 herbs bed for King, separate room for king's mother, attractive and lifetime furniture, windows style, balcony areas etc...Main attraction is the dance hall where kings and ministers sit and watch. Whereas the queen watch from special windows.The kitchen utensils, well with fulcrum etc.. are amazing...The roof architecture of the palace is marvelous.The rainwater harvesting introduced long long years ago tells us that the importance of Conservation of Water.A special building for other kings and visitors was built in foreign style.The room for providing free food for the public really appreciable.Overall I loved the place and enjoyed with my family.

Travancore heritage palace with historical significance. It could have been much better taken care of. Few doors and windows and flooring are dilapidated and needs urgent restoration. The staffs could have explained historical significance of artefacts much better if they were sincere and interested in making the visitors more informed about the place and history.

This is one of my favourite places to go to so full of our history ,But this time I was so disappointed1, The guides just stand at random corners and say some random things no explanation given whatsoever . This is a very old palace, about 423 years old, lovely place, to see from outside it looks like a small house, but inside is a big campus, is open from 9am to 12.30pm and later I think re opens at 4pm. You will get to see king's ways of living and the architecture, place to hide, queen's room etc.

A very big and nice old palace spread in a few acres. It's full of teak wood. There are instructors at the key locations to talk about the space and the king.There is no proper electrical lighting inside and even the armour museum was closed due to electricity issues when I visited.Should take a maximum of 1-1 .5 hrs for a good visit.

One of the important historical places in kanyakumari. The place was kept so clean and plastic free, guides were kept at several points inside the palace for explanation. One of the most beautiful and biggest wooden palace in India. Palace is mesmerizing. Beautiful scenery and one can see hill behind palace which adds extra beauty to the palace. It is near about 400 years old. Need better preservation and maintenance. Illumination is low but that gives it an illusive look. Inside the palace few guides available, they explain about the importance topics of it nicely. It was the original capital of the Travancore Dynasty and this palace was their original palace before they shifted their capital and palaces to Trivandrum. It's a protected monument now under the Archaeological survey of Kerala. A good Historical place. Entry fee 40 for adults and 20 rupees for mobile photography.

This is second time I am revisiting. There were lots of properties and things lot place where allowed to see in 2014 . Now in 2024 there very less picture painting properties were able to see very less place where allowed to see. Don't know in future you will be able to visit. Visit this amazing place very soon.

The most prominent Hindu temple of Naga worship, Nagaraja Temple is situated at the Southern-most point of India at Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. Nagas are snakes that can also exist in human form. It is believed they bring prosperity and happiness to one’s life. Here the King of Nagas, Vasuki is worshipped. Vasuki is Lord Shiva’s Serpent which adorns his neck. It is believed that Nagadosha [curse by the Nagas], fertility problems and marriage obstacles are cured by visiting the Ayilya Pooja during Thula masam [October - Novemeber] which is the most auspicious occasion of the Nagaraja Temple. The town got its name Nagercoil due to the presence of this temple, as Nagercoil means the temple of Nagas.The story behind the existence of this temple is as follows - once a Namboothiri, a great devotee of Lord Shiva did Bhajanam [worship] for twelve days at Thiruvanchikkulam Temple. A pleased Lord Shiva asked Vasuki, the Nagaraja to grant Darshan [sight of] to the Namboothiri. Vasuki as his lord asked, visited the Namboothiri and gifted him the Nagamanickam to eliminate his sufferings. From that day, the Namboothiri worshipped Nagaraja and Nagayakshi [Queen of the Nagas]. One day returning back after curing a Pandya King’s skin disease, he reached Kottar, which is now known as Nagercoil. Suddenly he heard a woman crying. When he reached where the woman was standing he was surprised to see blood coming out of a rock. Immediately he identified it as the idol of the five headed Nagaraja. He did all the necessary rituals and built a small temple around it. Since then the Nagaraja is worshipped there. The present day temple was constructed later with shrines of Maha Vishnu and Shiva.Other than Paramashiva and Mahavishnu there are other shrines of Goddess Rukmini, Satyabhama, Ganapathi, Durga and Bala Murugan.Temple TimingsThe temple is open for worship from 04:00 am to 11:30 am and 05:00 pm to 08:30 pm.Major FestivalsThe most auspicious occasion of the Nagaraja Temple is the Ayilyam festival during the Malayalam month Thula [October - November]. I don’t understand how I missed to have darshan of this Nagaraja two times visit earlier.The very entry at the temple, inside induces spiritual vibes. Ladies should wear traditional saree and gents allowed without shirt and banian too.When we visited this kshetra, it was raining heavily due to cyclone.The sanctum sanctuary is filled with rain water being at lower level and leaking.Had the Darshana but could not see much outside.The place is causes ripples of sanctity. Blessed to have visited this holy place.

Nagaraja temple is one of the most loved tourist destinations in Nagarcoil.It is said that snakes are ever-present near the temple to protect it and even though many snakes have been spotted, no casualties have occurred because of them. Just as the name suggests, the temple is devoted to the serpent deity, a 5 headed naga.Nagaraja temple also houses shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Anantasayana which are just as ravishing as the temple.The green surroundings and stiff coconut trees can attract plenty of tourists from around the world. Wet sand scraped out of the installed idol is given out as the prasadam during the month of Avani(August to September) which records the most footfall in the temple during the year.

But its very powerful temple and very cool place to visit near kanyakumari about 20kms.1)Temple timings 5am to 11am2)2.3km from Railway station so please take Auto they will ask 100rs but make it for 70rs one side3) Luggage and Chappell stands are available inside the main arch only4)Mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple5)Darshan may take only 5 to 10min6) No hotel (eating) are present near by so plan it before visiting the temple only u will get coffee and tea stall like shop in front of temple.6)All age groups are allowed no problem.

Nagercoil is named due to Nagaraja Temple. The lingam there is in water and shayambu (appaeared by it self naturally) that is what the pandit told me. One can easily get darshan. Not very crowded on ordinary days.

An excellent devotional place which was located in nagar koil. Nagaran temple is an specific devoted place. Main God named as nagaran, nearer to that nagaran sannthi an kasi viswanathar sannathi, and anantha krishnar sannathi. Best ever maintenance by local government

Nagatheertham a holy pond which located before the temple where piligrims can bath at special occassions. We can offer cow milk and termaric powder to God. For this here temple authorities open a counter to sell tickets at 5.00 am . Holy mrithika mitti prasadam give to devotees here

Little crowd on Sunday. Local people believed God Nagaraja as very powerful God. Some of devotees donate miniature body parts made up of silver.Huge quantity of milk and Turmeric powder poured on small snake statues placed in front of temple.Sometime felt like this milk can be given to poor hungry children. But tradition and believe by doing God will fulfill their desire...ofcourse my family too believe

Very powerful temple in Nagercoil and must visit when you plan your trip to tamilnadu and if you go to trivandrum you can visit by train which is a 2 hour journey and there are number of trains from trivandrum and the timings of temple are opens at 5 am in morning and closes at 12:30 pm .

Very good place. I enjoyed the place very much. If clear sky then view would be wonderful. If not clear sky then experience will be different levels. Windy area. Try to take hotel near to sun rise point and take auto to sunset point. You will enjoy the road to point.

During an early morning visit to sunset Beach, we found beautiful views and nature's fury of massive waves smacking the boulders. However, humanity chose to leave the evidence of their filthy existence everywhere. Felt great to be in the southern most part of Indian subcontinent.

A very beautiful place to visit. I love to visit it. I think everybody have to visit this place atleast once in his whole lifetime.There's lot of car parking available with snacks shop surrounded by it.Many people try to get down to beach but police personnel present here to watch them as tides are heavy.Other than viewing sunset this place is definitely suitable for relaxation with a good view.A best place to see the sunset. Most people do not go to this site. Don't miss this side of Kanyakumari. It is fantastic, calm, and beautiful.There is not much sandy beach here but rocks to sit and enjoy the view and sound. Ample of parking spots around the beach area and nice walking path between the spots and beach which provides a refreshing walk and something to remember as a cherishing memory. Many food hawkers here for snack items. Dustbins are there on the roads near the beach so please do not throw waste on the beach like many others have done.

The interesting fact at Kankyakumari is you can view both sunrise and sunset from same viewpoint. The area gets crowded during these times and get ready to spend a good time here. This is a lovely place to take photos of the various changes that happen in the colors of the sky and water and suggest you also use the services of a professional photographer there.

Very beautiful view of sunset from the beach. Lot of people come here to enjoy this serene beauty. The reddish orange blooming going into the sea is definitely a thing to watch at least once if you plan to visit kanyakumari.

The sight of the sunset is astounding, but the place isn't very clean, a heap of clothes strewn against the rocks in the sand, ruins of a road and a seating area, maybe. Has so much potential that isn't being utilised. Having said that, watching the sun set in this place is something you SHOULD NOT miss. Just get there earlier and stake your claim on a rock

We went for stroll on the shore side, viewed the Thiruvalluvar status and Vivekananda rock from the Sunrise points. We climbed the view tower to see the sunset. This is simply amazing to see ! What a location to see the sunset. The sunset was amazing to see with orange background and rumbling seas hitting the rocks on shoreline.There was an moderate crowd there. Once the sunset, almost all left and we decided to spend few minutes in the strong wind top of the view tower. Then, came the amazing moment. The whole sky turned orange in colour and sea and oceans around reflected them ! This is one amazing moment.We got up around 4:30 AM, bathed and went to see the sunrise at sunrise point. Sunrise point is just behind the Amman temple on the Kanyakumari Beach. There were already around 3000 people there! One can sight beautiful sunrises anywhere in Kanyakumari, but, this place is quite special. The sun rises between the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue !

A serene and lovely spot on the last land of India. The vast Indian ocean shows its might in full fury as the tides grow high. It is recommended to wear non slippery footwear if you wish to climb the rocks for viewing sunset. Lot of vendors and parking spots available in the vicinity, just a public restroom is missing.

Went on a weekday but was still very crowded during sunset time. The sunset happens over the sea for a few months and moves towards the land for a few months.. Obviously the sunset over the sea is more beautiful.

To feel the awesome breeze alone this is a good spot. There are some seats available to enjoy the view and the wind carrying the ocean fragrance dashing on our face. If management could maintain the place it would be better.The best time to visit is 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM.Some people are taking baths naked. It would be better if they won't allow that.

The view is absolutely fantastic. The sun going down below the sea is so magical. The place can be viewed from the beach ,but requires perfect weather. However when cloudy it won't be seen well. Went to the sunset point in a Sunday evening. Got there about half an hour before sunset time. We were able to find parking space for the car pretty easily. By the time the sun sets , the place is packed with people. I quite enjoyed the sunset view more than the sunrise.

I can't express my feelings about this place. This is a really wonderful place in all of Tamil Nadu, even in India. Everyone can visit once and feel the vibes. I spent 2 hours there, I was thinking of spending more time and enjoying nature. The sunset with beach sea water noise was a really unforgettable moment of my life. Loved it.

You have to pay 50rs if you come in car to visit this stinky smelly place of a beach. What a horrible beach it is . It stinks to the core and there was a dead car near the beach rocks . It was my first time in Kanyakumari, and this Sunset point is where I visited first. Pretty neatly-kept place, with huge parking space and many local vendors selling snacks, fried fish, random seashell items.Pretty neat - overall, but there are 0 waste bins, and the visitors carelessly throw plastic and paper wastes near the beach area. There are many street dogs too, but not much of a menace.Definitely longing to go back! :)

Visited here on 26th Nov 2022. Vivekananda Rock and boating is open. 50rs boating charges and 30rs entry fee to the rock. Tiruvalluvar statue is under construction... Life jacket provided in the boat is pathetic... Smells badly. No clips for locking the jacket. Outdated boats. 3 boats are there for commuting.Tip: Try to visit there for boating in the morning as less crowds will be there. After 11am till 1pm there was a heavy crowd. 1pm to 3pm less crowds but you will be affected by heavy direct sunlight... The evening will be more crowded as everyone wants to see the sunset from there.

We visited with family,sunrise and sunset were very nice .Boat ride is a must try After seeing sunrise you can try to visit nearby fish markets in order to experience the fish auction.

Great place. I always wanted to visit it with my family. Finally it happened.The evening walk along the beach is just great. The morning view of the sunrise from the hotel terrace was extraordinary.Fisherman boats sailing over the sea, auction of fishes, all are just awesome moments.

It is not developed keeping in mind the tourism. If you have got the ability to differentiate the 3 seas just by looking at the water color I think it’s not the right places. I went above at the Minar or tower view to see the confluence but that was a mistake. I think they need to bring in investment and actually build a concrete structure inside the sea to let visitors see the confluence if any.A drone might help them in identifying the coordinates of the confluence very well and height of the tower must be calculated accordingly.

It is one of the most popular tourist spot in Kanyakumari. It's a great place to watch sun rise and sunset.I visit this place on a weekend, so it was really crowded. But still it was a great experience. The beach was clean and well maintained. The only issue I felt was to find a parking spot . I would really recommend this place to all.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial,also known as Gandhi Mandapam is located near the shores of Kanyakumari.This was built in the honour of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation.In 1925&1937 Mahatma Gandhi visited Kanyakumari twice.After his demise his ashes were kept in 12 different urns so as to transfer them to different parts of the country. One of these urns was brought to Kanyakumari. Before immersions, it was kept at the spot where the memorial is built now for public so that they can pay their last homage to one of the greatest sons of India. Later the ashes were immersed in the sea waters at Kanyakumari and Gandhi Mandapam was built at the same place.

This is a monumental place created in respect of Mahatma Gandhi.This is mostly a quiet place, so you can go whenever you want in the day time.The entry is free of cost, but you have to submit your footwear to the authorities before entering, which costs Rs. 5 for each pair.

Nice place very peaceful. It's open in the morning from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. There are no entry fees but you have to pay for footware because shoes are not allowed.

As the name suggest this hall (auditorium) has old historical photos of Mahatma gandhi and stories transcribed in walls. Also as a memoir of him a black tombstone is placed in the middle of the hall. During hot sizzling weather visitors often take rest Outside the premises of the hall.

Personally I would like to say it's a waste of time visiting this place. There is nothing to see in this place. Only a monumental structure and few good photography background. They sometimes charge you donetion from the tourist for its modification and etc purpose. But if you like to visit new new places and experience all kind of experiences then you can visit this place.

As usual, people are not allowed in their usual dress like other temples in south India. I just hate this part.They want us to come vare chest and lungi in front of ladies and specially in this temple which belongs to Kumari Kanya.There is forced fees at the entry and when you ask why are you taking it then they say it's volunteer fees for Mantainenece. I mean I just don't understand if they do have money for maintaining this temple. Really, govt is not giving them any grants or they have no wealth inside or people do not donate.I find it waste but religiously I found it good. See God is equal for every one, poor or rich, young or old, make it female. But these useless pandits there are greedy.

I was in this place with my family. The ambiance is excellent. The statue is decorated well, but no boat is available to the location. You can spend time with mental peace. The best time to visit in the month of July to August during early morning. There will be less crowded at that time slot.

In Jan'24, it is closed due to construction of bridge or flyover between Vivekanand Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue rock. This beautiful Thiruvalluvar statue at Kanyakumari sea coast at a distance of 400 m stands in a small island representing ancient poet of Tamil Nadu Valluvar later called as Thiruvalluvar with honour.41 m height of statue made of stone and concrete in 1999 has profound base of 38 ft depicting 38 contributions from this poet. His contributions towards ethics, morality, love and economics in form of literature is well known and appreciated.When we visited, this was closed for maintenance since last year. Because, once in four years maintenance work is carried out with chemical coating to preserve this statue from heavy wind, tides and rainfall.This statue is believed as one of the 25th biggest statue in India.

Best ever place for a trip in anyone's life, in the middle of waters there exists a place to get a peace of mind.This is the only one.Not only for an excursion but only for seeing a view of water bodies statues ,sunset and sunrise points, we went there.Going in a boat from one side to the other side of the rock memorial was an awesome experience.After coming back to home we think of the place and imagine the scenery.No words to explain, what a view.

I went with my family and it is an iconic place in the whole of India. The memorial is fully surrounded by the sea and is so exciting watching the water bodies cover all parts of the land. It's one of the most beautiful memorials ever and maintained wonderfully well. To reach the memorial from the mainland the government operates jetty service which costs 75 per adult and only cash is accepted.Even on a weekday we had to wait for almost 2 hours in total to reach the memorial so plan accordingly. Other than that it's a mesmerizing place with a grand view.

Worth visiting place. We went in the noon hours so there was less crowd. The ticket price is 75 Rs to and fro on the ferry.You will get around 40-45 minutes to visit Vivekananda Memorial and can buy books too.You can enjoy beautiful view of Triveni Sangam.

Great place for a visit, situated in the Indian Ocean..! Worth a visit .. definitely not for a family with kids, it's heavily crowded and takes more.than 3-4 hours to go and come back .. in the queue you are waiting , no place to sit and not even water is provided.. management needs to work lot on improving the queue system.. elderly people are struggling to stand continuously.. kindly work on the queue and neatness on the boat..

There is entry ticket 🎫 of Inr 30 to go inside the hall, meditation area, book shop etc.,. Ferry ⛴️ ticket is for ferry only. The place is maintained very good. Shoes 👞 and sandals 🩴 are not allowed inside. They have facilities to keep safe. Eating 🥣 is not allowed. The breeze is so cool. The architecture is fabulous. Better to visit on weekdays to have less crowded and enjoy your time.

It was my father's dream to visit this place. During his school days he contributed 2 rupees for the construction of this beautiful structure.It's really beautiful. At the confluence of the Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean.From the beach, through a steam boat we have to reach this place. Life jacket mandatory so zero risk.We spend around 2 to 3 hours on the memorial. Altogether it was a pleasant experience.Best time to visit in the afternoon to avoid high temperature and to enjoy the evening breeze.

This is a lovely serene place to be. The last mainland rock of India has pretty amazing views and a great place to mediate on the Vivekanand rock memorial. The ferry service from the mainland is a bit pricey for a 5 min ride though

Surreal to experience the culmination of 3 vast oceans and seas. Very crowded on weekends though. They close the ticket counter around 4 pm. Two large boats do to and fro tips to the rock memorial. Although the distance is very short, the waves are high because 3 water bodies meeting there. The sunset and moonrise views are awesome. Try to avoid public holidays.

Well, what to say about that as there are so much written about that in detail but still I like to add that the difference between " I have read it" and " I have seen it " is this place inside the sea in Kanyakumari. In simple words, it's breathtaking.You have to go through sea by ferry to reach the island and back. Ferry service starts sharp at 8AM in morning. Don't get fooled by 200/- vs 50/- rs VIP gimmick as there is no difference in any treatment at any stage.Well, go there to feel it for yourself. It's definitely worth it.

Wonderful place. We as a family visited this place and we loved it. We went at around 4:00pm and the sun was bright and the winds were strong. The rock memorial is maintained well and very clean. You can sit peacefully and do meditation. The ferry will take you from the mainland to the island. The charges are Rs. 50/- per person.There is another landmark right next to the memorial in another island, that is Thuruvalluvar Statue. It was under renovation and no visitor was allowed to go near it. We can definitely enjoy the sound of waters and the strong breeze that embraces. The sea was rough because of the winds. The colors of the oceans were spectacular.It is a treat to watch sunset and sunrise from the same place.A must to visit for everyone.

Very beautiful place. The places reverberates with spirituality. It was a memorable visit. You can spend 2-3 hours. Sitting on this rock Swami Vivekananda came up with the decision to go to America to spread the teachings of Vedanta. The meditation room is a great place to meditate. The view is great and calms the mind. During early morning hours stand near the Kanyakumari Temple sunrise point and see the sun rise over the memorial. Very nice structure and well maintained. Waiting time may be high in season for ferry and consider this while you make your travel plans.

Nice place to visit and experience being surrounded by the ocean. The ferry is a short ride here but it's very unsafe as there are never enough life vests. They need to improve the safety significantly as the waves can be very rough. The memorial is nice and the area is very scenic.

The southern most point of india and very good place to visit. The breeze air and ocean waves will make your ride worth. The ferry ride is enjoy because of huge tides.

The Rock Memorial is amazing! They have this quiet meditation room that’s so peaceful, you can’t even hear the ocean outside. The whole place is just beautifully built. Definitely worth checking out! Highly recommend it.

Worth the visit if it isn't crowded. The boat ride to and from the rock looks perilous but everyone seems to enjoy it like some distopian roller coaster ride. We reached by around 2 PM and hardly waited in the ticketing queue. Takes around 1-1.5 Hrs in total, a little more if you chose to meditate in the meditation hall. The entry queue was serpentine by the time we returned (around 4-5 PM)
