Healthy Dates Milkshake Recipe (1)

During holidays most of the kids resort to snack to kill boredom. It helps to keep some wholesome snacks handy rather than store bought ones. Though I don’t encourage mindless snacking, homemade milkshakes, granola, sundal, trail mix, idiyappam, pancakes are my preferred kids snack any day.

Personally I loved a chilled glass of milkshake during summer. Even while eating out I opt for a thick shake whenever available. We go through a lot of milkshakes like mango, strawberry, dry fruits, carrot during holidays and this milkshake with dates is our all time favorite.

This milkshake tastes so yummy and rich, that you will not believe it is made with dried dates. The combination if dates and milk is very good and flavorful. Along with dried dates you can also add few tablespoons of dates syrup for more flavor.

Serve this milkshake chilled as snack or breakfast. While making for special occasions you can add a scoop of ice cream while serving.

Dates Milkshake Recipe

Easy, quick and simple

Healthy and refreshing with the goodness of dates

Delicious and addictive

Can be made vegan easily

To make dates milkshake you need dried dates, milk and sugar. Just three main ingredients. But I also add

  • few almonds
  • pure vanilla extract

Adding almonds give a nice texture and flavor to the beverage along with improving the nutrition. If you want a very creamy shake you can add cashews instead of almonds.

Next pure vanilla extract is an ingredient I highly recommend in this recipe. The combination of vanilla and dates in absolutely delicious and tastes so yummy.

I have used organic raw sugar as sweetener. You can easily use honey, palm sugar or jaggery too. The amount of sugar can be varied as per taste
