This is a Part- time, non-benefited, FLSA non-exempt position in the Administrative Services Division that reports to the Executive Director, Budget Compliance and Reporting.

Salary: $20/hr.

Schedule: May work up to 29 hours a week depending on business needs and budget for a period not to exceed nine (9) consecutive calendar months. There must be a separation of employment for a period of at least thirty (30) calendar days before becoming eligible for re-employment including any future period(s) of active employment

Minimum Qualifications ( Job Code T6002)
Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or high school diploma “and” five (5) years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Experience in state governmental accounting. Experience using TeamWorks Financial System and knowledge of governmental accounting, such as accounts payable, general ledger, purchase orders. Accurate 10-key skills. Working knowledge of Excel. Good organizational skills. Works well independently. Five years of experience has been within a technical college business or bursar area.

Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Specialist assists the Administrative Service Division staff with daily workload and special projects as identified and assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Percentage of Time:

Process accounts payable/vendors invoices in TeamWorks & maintain accounts payable files for ease of retrieval of information for audit and other research purposes.

Process travel expense reports in the Concur system timely and accurately.

Effectively communicate with internal and External customers regarding payment issues and procedures.

10%

Communicates with faculty and staff related to accounts payable documents (POs, emails. etc) as needed.

Process Student Refunds Check via our Banner System.

Reviews a wide range of source documents, such as POs, vouchers, invoices, travel documents for accuracy and completeness.

20%

Follow up with Shipping and Receiving regarding any processing issues.

Review monthly accounts payable reports for accuracy to ensure year-end close and account payable reconciliations goes well (1099 & AP19 reports).

Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College
