IQ TIMES HERALD'' Washington DC August 13 1848 Silver Underpass Will Open on Sept 11 Ths 11000000 8ilver Spring underpass begun 14 months ago to relieve one of the worst traffic bottlenecks will be opened Sept 11 Blair Lee III president of the Silver Spring board of trde said yesterday The viaduct which will' carry Georgia avenue traffic under the Baltimore Ohio railroad tracks near the Silver Spring sta tion will be opened in ceremonies attended by Gov Lane other high State and federal officials and leaders of community business groups Two Hour Parade Charles Hopeland chairman of the Avenue of Progress commit tee which lssponsorlng the cere monies said the official opening will be preceded by a twq hour parade Marchers will form at the Dis opening the viaduct to traffic and then continue to Colesville Pike to Dale Drive and come to a halt at Montgomery Blalr hlgh school At the school stadium a two hour program of music and dem onstrations will wind up the activities Kopeland said that dancing will be held in the street in front of tne Silver Spring office from 8 pm until midnight Arrangement dbmmittee mem bers in addition to Hopeland?
